オタマボヤ科．約1 mm. 世界中の海に広く分布する．ハウスというセルロース製の摂餌フィルターを分泌する．雌雄異体．写真は成熟雌（2024.11）．

マボヤ科. 高さ約10 cm．革状の暗赤色の外皮に包まれる．外皮には棘が密生している．棘の表面にはさらに微小な突起を備えている．浅海の岩などに付着しているHeight 10 cm. Dark red tunic covered with spines. Each spine bears minute processes. Found on rocks.
エボヤ

マボヤ科．体色は薄茶色．長い柄状のもので岩などに付着している．食用にされることもある．

スボヤ

ドロボヤ科。体長約 5 cm。被嚢は厚い軟骨状、半透明で褐色を帯びる。食用で体液に酸味がある。日本では北海道から東北北部に分布する。
Corellidae. Body length is ca. 5 cm. The tunic is thick, cartilaginous, and translucent with brown color. Edible. Sour taste in body fluids.
ユウレイボヤ

ユウレイボヤ科．日本各地に分布しており，日の当たらない場所に群生する．夜間にぼんやりと光る様子からこの名を冠する．ホタテ養殖現場においてホタテや養殖資材に付着するため嫌われる．

ドロボヤ科. 体長約40 mm. Oka (1935) による陸奥湾生物調査の報告中では，「This is no doubt the most beautiful of Mutsu Bay ascidians」との記述があり，美しいオレンジ色のmantleが半透明のtest越しに透けて見える．陸奥湾ではユウレイボヤ類と共に見つかることがある．
