ヒメヒトデ

ルソンヒトデ科．北海道以南，本州中部にかけて分布し、潮下帯の岩礁域に生息する．幅長は2cmほどの小型のヒトデ．
Distributed from Hokkaido to central Honshu. Found from subtidal rock reefs. Diameter is 2 cm including the arms.

ヒトデ網マヒトデ科．小さな岩のくぼみに，足を折り曲げるようにして隠れている．引っ張りだそうとすると容易に自切する. 切れた足は再生する．

エゾヒトデ2

This species hides in the depression of small rocks. When picking up this species, it often severs its arm. It could regenerate its lost arm.

る大型のヒトデ．砂に潜っている二枚貝を捕食する．
Distributed from Hokkaido to off Choshi and also in northern part of Sea of Japan. Found from rock reefs and muddy sand sediment. Diameter including the arms is 25 cm. It burrows in sand and predate bivalves.

ヒトデ網タコヒトデ科．22～39本もの腕を持つ大型のヒトデで，センターでは裸島周辺の岩礁帯のみで見られる．腕の基部は細くて切れやすく，再生途中の短い腕が混じっていることがある．

モミジガイ科．北海道から九州まで日本沿岸に広く分布し，浅海の泥底に潜って生活する．二枚貝を食する．マヒトデなどと異なり，管足の先に吸盤がない．生殖期は6月から8月．

Distributed from Hokkaido to Kyushu. Borrows in muddy sediment. Predate bivalves. Unlike Asterias amurensis, it lacks suction discs at the tip of its tube feet. Breeding season is June to August.

Astropecten polyacanthus Müller & Troschel, 1842
10 cm程度. 褐色で管足の先に吸盤がない．モミジガイに似るが、背側にも棘がある. 裸島周辺の5 m付近で見つかる（2024年夏）.
Approximately 10 cm in body size. Brown in color, with tube feet that lack suckers. Resembles the starfish Astropecten scoparius but has spines on its dorsal side. Found around 5 meter depths near Hadaka-jima, Asamushi (Summer 2024).
